depa invites Thai digital entrepreneur to submit their innovative digital works as national representatives to participate in the ASEAN DIGITAL AWARDS 2025. Thailand will host the event, providing an opportunity for showcasing creative works to the world and inspiring digital innovators. Applications are open from today until July 26, 2024. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), revealed that depa has always focused on promoting and supporting creative thinking in digital innovation to develop works that can benefit people, the economy, society, and the country. depa has been the main agency responsible for selecting the works of Thai digital startups and entrepreneurs for the ASEAN ICT Awards (now the ASEAN DIGITAL AWARDS) organized by the ASEAN Secretariat since 2017. The project has been highly successful, with Thai entrepreneurs winning awards continuously.

“This year, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) has again assigned depa to select all the outstanding Thai digital technology and innovation works from various fields to represent the country in the ASEAN DIGITAL AWARDS 2025, hosted by Thailand. This is a significant opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to present their works on an international stage and pave a new path to global markets. The winners will serve as role models and inspire new researchers and developers to create digital products/services, thereby enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the future,” said the President/CEO of depa.

The ASEAN DIGITAL AWARDS 2025 will have six categories:
1. Public Sector: Digital products, services, or programs related to government or public services, such as e-government.
2. Private Sector: Digital products, services, or programs related to business and industry, such as industrial applications, e-logistics and supply chain management, finance industry applications, communication, e-health, tourism, and hospitality.
3. Digital Inclusivity: Digital products, services, or programs that help citizens participate in the digital economy and society by creating skills, motivation, and safe opportunities to use digital technology and online systems.
4. Digital Content: Digital products and/or services related to integrating text, sound, images, and video to create multimedia entertainment, edutainment, realism, and interactivity.
5. Digital Start-up: Digital entrepreneurs in the early stages of establishment, using digital and technological advancements to improve work efficiency, business models, and living standards.
6. Digital Innovation: Digital products, services, or programs from higher education institutions and research institutes promoting new innovations to enhance business operations or user quality of life.

In the ASEAN DIGITAL AWARDS 2024, Thailand’s representatives won two silver medals: one for the Decentralized Health Care blockchain technology by HealthTAG Co., Ltd., and another for the BiTNet AI system for screening high-risk cholangiocarcinoma patients by Khon Kaen University.

depa and experts from various fields will select and review applicant’s digital works, presenting them to the national committee to choose the most suitable works in each category. These will represent Thailand in the ASEAN DIGITAL AWARDS 2025, hosted by Thailand.
